Jessie

TUTOR, KEYWORKER

Jessie is an Early Childhood and Primary School teacher at Everbright Collective. As a parent herself and with experience in both Early Education and Primary teaching, Jessie is confident in working with children of all ages.

Jessie believes that the most important aspect when working with children is the relationship fostered between teacher and child. Without a relationship that has been built through time, trust, honesty, genuine interest, and fun, connecting and working with a child is difficult, therefore Jessie puts time into getting to know your child first.

Jessie strongly rejects the one-size-fits-all approach to being and learning. Jessie believes each child is different with unique strengths and interests and that it is our job as teachers to find a path that helps children reach their full potential.

Jessie uses a child-led approach in her sessions with the goal of providing a valuable holistic experience for your child. Your child’s strengths and interests are catered to in the sessions through play, learning material if appropriate, encouragement, and conversations which can be both meaningful and casual. Areas of focus are also addressed gently and direction is given when needed.

Jessie understands the importance of both the caregivers and children having a voice in the journey that they are embarking on, therefore caregivers and children will always have a voice in communicating what it is that they would like out of their sessions. Through open and honest communication more meaningful goals are able to be set. This allows for a greater sense of accomplishment and pride when a goal is worked towards and reached.
